Bonanza.com
- I love selling on Bonanza. It is so easy to list and the selling fees are right in line. I try to tell as many people as I can about this website because I think that it would be a terrific place to sell if there were just more buyers. I read that they are planning to do more advertising this year so I think that will be a big plus for the sellers. I have been selling on this website for 5 years and would love to see it take off as a true competitor to eBay, etsy, and Amazon.
- Two hundred forty extra sales in two years without much effort! Nice addition to my other sites.
- Outstanding website for sellers! Bonanza has some work ahead to advertise themselves so more people/customers would know where to shop.......
- This is a great site, great communication, and wonderful group of vendors. There is a strong emphasis on building the Bonanza community, however, and I don't get a lot of outside traffic. I really like the way you can manage your inventory and even import inventory and feedback from another site.
- I love to sell on Bonanza because of low seller's fees which allows sellers to sell items at lower prices compared to eBay. There are not many strict, crazy hoops to jump through like eBay to be allowed to sell. Bonanza is friendly and hospitable in personality. They offer PayPal and Amazon Checkout which attracts buyers. Items can be advertised on different marketplaces also. Seller transactions are shown since buyers tend not to leave feedback rating on unpopular site. The negatives are technical glitches, no phone service, and minor improvements needed (more pics than 6, more ease of posting items for sale from mobile phone).
- Bonanza is generally a very good site. Customer service is excellent 99% of the time but once in a while they do overlook a solution for a problem which I feel is more the person handling the problem then the site. Only other problem they have is they need to point out to buyers to be sure and READ the listing and note the payment methods. They overdo some items and underdo some important things. But overall a good selling site.
- Fantastic site, very social and fun. Main drawback, lack of marketing, so few sales...unless upload to eBay and Google w/ paid ads if an item sells. Then all three (Google, Bonanza and eBay) seem to work much harder to promote, sell your items.
- I had a few 9s because I would like to see Bonanza go to an auction option because I feel it encourages people to spend faster and more freely if the price is right then drives up by demand. I would also like to see up to 12 allowable photos. Seven is not enough when one sells handbags like mine which typically have authenticating factors that need to be shown in photos.
- Lovely site, with great customer service. I only wish the sales were more frequent there. They need to really do something to drive traffic!
- I like the layout and ease of listing. You can add additional attributes which is not possible on many other sites and your items are automatically submitted to Google on a regular schedule. It is good to know they are going to invest more in advertising. I just hope the advertising is in the right places. Sharing is easy.
- I've been on Bonz for just over 5 years. They've made some weird changes which have made chances of getting ahead unlikely. I love the ease of listing, and that all my listings make it into Google Shopping. I'd just like to see more results.
- I love Bonanza but don't seem to sell many items. I'm not sure if it is the economy or because sellers aren't aware of it. I do miss the more friendly forums and am not happy about the link to eBay & Amazon. I no longer list books or items that have Amazon listings.
- There is less concern about extortion from customers manipulating the feedback system.
- Good site but things are left to "collect dust" for very long periods of time before items sell. No listing fees and low FVF make it worthwhile.
- Appreciate other payment options besides PayPal.
- Profitability: I like the low fees and generosity given to use rewards to pay our fees. Ease of use: We need USPS attached to Bonanza so we can print labels and ship; also have the tracking number attached automatically upon printing label. Recommend: Unfortunately, Bonanza isn't well enough known to generate many sales. BUT, when we sell, we profit nicely.
- Bonanza needs to have shipping label options. I currently have to go to USPS to finish transactions. It would make it easier if it were in one place. It would also make it easier if you could pay your fees as soon as they are accrued instead of waiting for an invoice. Thanks
- Bonanza needs to make it easier to print labels.
- Because they allow sellers to suggest things like colors and other traits for items, one is better able to accurately describe the item but at the same time the traits and choices are a bit disorganized.
- I really like Bonanza but sales are really slow. What I like most is that my items can stay in my store until they sell. I have a choice for customers to buy it now or make an offer. I don't like that the stats show that items I've sold are still be viewed. I don't know how that can work. Anyway, I like Bonanza better than any other place. I just wish I had more sales.
- No traffic and no sales. I sell on other sites but can't sell on this site. Technology is also outdated, website difficult to negotiate as a seller if you are listing or editing because of many tech errors. Google search not refined.
- Bonanza did a nosedive this past year. It had been my only venue for 5 years until May when suddenly sales went from mediocre to flat. But at least prior to May there were actual sales. Being the only place I sold I was happy with 10-13 sales a month, not knowing I could do so much more. It was not until I ventured out, got my own web store and then eBay as well, did my sales go into the stratosphere and I realized I had been led down a primrose path. I sold items that had sat on Bonanza for 5 years quickly and easily elsewhere. I still have items on Bonanza, but nothing new since May. (In case they should do a sudden turn around).
- Don't like chatting with customers, everyone knowing you are on line there. don't like the tokens/ games, check in's etc. Sold 2 items in 3 years.
- The profitability on actual sale is excellent but those sales are few and far between. Unless you are friends with half of New York, views are low and Google placement is even lower. Still, for non-vintage it's the best.
- Extremly slow sales, almost no traffic at all. When sales occur they are quite profitable. Much better site than eBay but no traffic. I would not recommend the site normally due to limited sales but it is a better site than eBay.
- This site gets little exposure = little sales to none. They do not answer my e mails. I wanted to participate in advertising and was never answered.
- They seem to promote only those who purchase a membership. They are often changing things that are not a benefit to sellers and only makes things more difficult.
- Too busy trying to get "clicks" from outside ads. Ads on seller's listings. They don't do any promotion. Rely on members to promote for them. No concentration on helping sellers, making changes without telling members, betraying loyal sellers, very unstable selling program when it comes to attributes and catagory changes. Wouldn't recommend this site.
- Bonanza does not seem to listen to or care about it's sellers. Banning sellers without warning. Changing the forums and removing any post they think are negative or they just don't like.
- I canceled my store in 2013. Although it was free to have a shop there I did not have more than 1 or 2 sales a year. Those I did have were good but it got to the point where I was only going there to remove items that had sold elsewhere. Listing was aggravating as they made changes without notifying sellers and when I went to list an item, it took me a while to figure out the changes. My shipping was 5 years old so it was really a money loser. I had no problem with customer service when I did contact them. They were always prompt to respond and helpful.
- Few sales but fair interest with hits on items listed. May have more sales here that are unknown due to items linked to our own selling site but no way to track.
- "Communication with you as a seller" is the only area where I feel Bonanza falls short. Individual questions to support are answered quickly and well, but when they make changes to the way you list attributes, for instance, there is no official notification. The only way you can keep your listings right is to be constantly checking each one individually (an impossibility). Since they changed the forums, there is no more community, which I felt was their strongest point. Of course, that aspect is not one of the questions on this survey: the social aspect, or community. They do post announcements on an infrequent schedule (no schedule). Bonanza has made many changes and has corrected many of the worst features (the front page, for example). But some of the new features, the catalog in particular, are a complete failure, in my opinion.
- Occasional sales. But profits dropped dramatically after they changed the forums and the auction format went by the wayside. If they start advertising those up again, I'll participate more. The seller cohesion got lost in their shuffling things around.
- There was a time when Bonanza couldn't be beat, for it's features, for it's customer service, for it's ease of use. The only thing it was lacking was traffic, and for many sellers...sales. Something has changed over the past year. Enough so that this old timer decided to look elsewhere and lost faith and trust in their objectives. When they started using their sellers to bring in hits that they could then pass on to Amazon, that was the straw that broke the camels back. The worst thing they did was kill a community that you would not have found anywhere else. All because they didn't like hearing from the sellers about all the underhanded sneaky things they were doing to steal sales from them. And they still are. This is a case where there was a bright shining star in ecommerce land as far as marketplaces go and they destroyed the model. For what reason, we can only guess.
- I did not rate profitability high because I have not been promoting as I should. But, if I were I would have rated it higher because of their bonuses I have not had to pay very much in fees.
- This site has slowly degraded. Slow and no sales and the site continues to be a mess with lots of technical issues that are not addressed.
- Bonanza has only just begun advertising over this past year. The means by which the do it is highly questionable. They generate their revenue by populating Bonanza seller listings with competing Amazon.com ads. They are largely unconcerned with the fact that completed sales are going offsite by using this method, as they are realizing profits from the click-throughs that buyers use to acquire those items on Amazon. Further, they are populating Google Shopping feeds with years-old SOLD OUT items just to bolster their feed size to garner better placement on Google. It is highly unethical, and is hurting long-time sellers. The tech support responses are often flippant and insulting. I use this site only because of the low seller fees, and I don't expect much in return. My expectations are never exceeded.
- I have been with Bonanza from almost its beginning and have sold a lot at first. The sales have decreased over time, though I continue to promote it the same. When the owners of the site took away the social aspect which was its best feature, it was a lot less engaging.
- Very nice site and organization, but few sales, and too much of a social site versus selling site.
- Bonanza does not generate many sales and they very often redirect buyers by advertising similar items from Amazon. Redirecting to Amazon is a very bad policy in my opinion. Their low sales commission on a standard account is attractive and the site is easy to use, but there have been periods of software "glitches" that were annoying.
- Bonanza has low fees so my profitability is high when I have sales. I feel as though lately items don't show up in search as well as it used to. Customer service is great with real people giving real answers.
- I love Bonanza and they are improving all the time. I am seeing my sales on their pick up, but they're not top notch yet.
- Bonanza is so user friendly for both selling and buying. I love Bonanza and hope this is the breakout year for them.
- They seem only interested in large sellers now. Interested in Batch Edits, rather than editing single items from the Add/Edit page.
- I like Bonanza and I have a lot of stuff listed on there. It seems though I was making more sales on there a few years ago when I first started. They don't have the traffic where a buyer makes a impulse purchase. I don't sell enough items on this site. The fees are very reasonable though.
- The seller back-end on Bonanza is not well-designed. It's difficult to edit products and to do bulk updates on Bonanza. Traffic is minimal on Bonanza but we do get just enough sales to justify continuing to sell. Bonanza though is still a long way from matching Etsy or eBay in traffic and sales volume. We do not consider Bonanza to be professionally managed.
- I don't seem to sell much on this site, but when I do, the low rates are nice. I do love Bonanza though and will continue to sell there.
- Been using it for many years. Convenient for me and my customers like using it.
- Not enough traffic on this site, and sometimes it can be difficult to relist an item.
- I use it as a "second chance" site for things that didn't sell on eBay. They need an easier way of getting items on the site. The transfer from eBay works, but a lot of work has to be done after they are transferred.
